I'm glad that I hear other people moaning about their parents, so at least I know it's not just me. However, my dad really was an utter wanker this evening.

He was away on work until about 6, he comes in and immediately starts moaning about stuff - I left a few things out in the kitchen after making myself a sandwich, and I'd spread my prospectodes across one of the chairs in the living room. A little while afterwards he comes up and has a massive fit about the fact that I didn't tidy up the towels in the bathroom - 'Obviously you've has such a hard day that you have to go and sit on the computer for hours to recover'.

Pretty trivial stuff, don't you think? However, I have the cheek to suggest at dinner that maybe it was a bit rude and unneccessary to be yelling at me for the above offences. For this I'm told to go and eat my dinner in my room and 'get out of (his) sight'. I dutifully tramp off, and stay in my room until about half 10, when he comes up and has yet another moan for, you guessed it, having music on, sitting on a creaky chair, being on the computer and 'not paying attention to anyone else in the house' IN MY ROOM AWAY FROM HIM WHERE HE TOLD ME TO GO.

Perhaps I should have learned, but I pointed this out too him too, with similar results.
